Make your way to DowntownDC’s Franklin Park (13th & I) to experience “DowntownDC in Bloom,” (#downtowndcinbloom) a unique, week-long lighting display to celebrate the 2017 National Cherry Blossom Festival. Each evening from sundown to 11pm from Mar. 20-26 enjoy  a unique, artistic projection of cherry-blossom inspired projections on the urban tree canopy of Franklin Park. The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) is working with D.C. artist Robin Bell, founder of Bell Visuals, to bring a second lighting display this year to Downtown’s largest green space. For Valentine’s Day, Bell was commissioned to create and display lighting projections for “I Heart Franklin Park,” a single-night lighting event.

Bell is an award-winning editor, video journalist, and multimedia artist based in Washington DC. He is known for his unique style of live video collage, which he has performed at well-known venues including The Kennedy Center, the 9:30 Club and The Phillips Collection in D.C., Central Park SummerStage in New York and The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

DowntownDC in Bloom is a part of the Festival’s City in Bloom program in which pink-and-blossom-filled streets will unite the region with Festival spirit for over 1.5 million people taking part in the nation’s greatest springtime celebration.

Head to Franklin Park this week to experience “DowntownDC in Bloom” and share your experience with #downtowndcinbloom.”
