Every Tuesday in June at sunset, Freedom Plaza (13th & Pennsylvania) will be transformed into an outdoor movie theater featuring CAN I KICK IT? – a multimedia movie screening engagement produced by SHAOLIN JAZZ and brought to you by the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID). Each event features a classic (or cult contemporary classic) martial arts film that is scored with an original music soundtrack of hip hop, soul, and more mixed live by DJ 2-Tone Jones.

Event attendees are invited to start their night at Boss Shepherd’s (13th & E Streets NW) for a special CAN I KICK IT? Happy Hour featuring event themed cocktails, or play a game of ping pong on Freedom Plaza. A limited number of stadium cushions will be provided by zipcar and complimentary popcorn will be available from Pret A Manger (while supplies last). Bring your own seating. Films will start promptly at 8:30 PM, where audiences will be treated to cult classics: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; The Last Dragon; Big Trouble in Little China; and The Matrix.

Join us on this historic National Park Service site for the first Freedom Plaza movie series.
