Mark your calendar for the 2013 Building Energy Summit, taking place on Tuesday, March 26, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (1300 Pennsylvania Avenue). The DowntownDC BID has once again partnered with CoR Advisors to provide a forum in which to educate building owners and managers on the many ways to reduce energy, cut costs and collaborate with others for maximum efficiency.

Dan Tangherlini, acting administrator at the General Services Administration, and S. Richard Fedrizzi, a co-founder of the U.S. Green Building Council, are the keynote speakers. Also on the roster: more than 70 nationally recognized industry leaders and energy experts from such companies as Liberty Group Trust, CBRE, Adobe Systems, Vornado, and Akridge (700 6th Street).

As the first Summit successfully did last year, the upcoming meeting will equip building owners and managers with the necessary tools to radically reduce energy consumption and costs. Attendees will walk away with a detailed roadmap for benchmarking buildings, monitoring real time energy usage, analyzing operational data, making efficient upgrades and changes, and integrating the latest technologies to significantly cut energy consumption.

This 2nd annual meeting will also feature four educational tracks, 15 breakout sessions, case study presentations, and networking opportunities. Both the USBC and BOMI International will provide continuing education credits to Summit participants.

The 2013 Building Energy Summit will further assist the DowntownDC BID ecoDistrict program as it supports the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Challenge (BBC) and the DC Smarter Business Challenge to dramatically reduce energy consumption citywide. More information is available at the Summit website.
