It’s blooming pink fun! The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, that is. With its colorful floats, booming marching bands, and other family activities, the parade struts its way along Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets,  on Saturday, April 10, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, rain or shine.

This year’s Parade is sure to please the 100,000-plus teens, tots and adults who will gather to be wowed by it all. What’s not to love? American Idol finalist Justin Gaurini, R&B vocalist Deborah Cox and 2010 Miss America Caressa Cameron of Fredericksburg, Virginia, will all be on hand. As will cast members from the Little Shop of Horrors, now playing at Ford’s Theatre (511 10th Street), and hundreds of Youth Choir and All-Star Tap Team members.

Enjoy drummers and majorettes, who will strut and march to the powerful beats presented by the Ballou High School Band, the Robert R. Gray Elementary School Band from Prince George’s County, the Legends Community Marching Band from the Bahamas and other local and national bands. Watch in awe as the Tamagawa University Drummers from Tokyo play percussion and Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko performs Taiko drumming. The list of “must-sees” is long.

So join the fun. The Parade is free and open to all. Grandstand seats, located on Constitution Avenue between 15th and 17th Streets, are available for $17 per person through Ticketmaster, at www.ticketmaster.com.
