DC Circulator Service Changes

Come October 1, expect several minor routing and bus stop changes to DC Circulator services. According to the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), the Union Station-Navy Yard bus will be rerouted near Union Station, a major transportation hub for Downtown, to allow for a shared stop with the Union Station-Georgetown route on eastbound Massachusetts Ave NE, just before E Street, where the current Union Station-Georgetown route stops now. In addition, at the southern end of the Union Station-Navy Yard line, a slight redirect will take place when the bus turns from 1st Street SE to K Street SE, instead of from 1st Street SE to I Street SE as it does now. No bus stops will be impacted by this reroute.

To learn more about these and other changes and to provide feedback, the public is invited to the Third Semi-Annual Circulator Forum from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, September 18, at Union Station in the Columbus Club, located at 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE. Can’t make the meeting? Current and future users can submit comments later to Brooke Fossey at brooke.fossey@dc.gov, or click on the “contact us” link located on the DC Circulator website.

Since beginning service with two-routes in 2005, the DC Circulator has grown into a successful surface transit system which provides daily bus service on five convenient routes throughout the city. Circulator buses arrive every 10 minutes, and the fare is $1.
