The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced this week that they are offering a mobile application for public space permits along with geographic information system (GIS) information.

The application permits users to view permit information (name, duration, expiration date, status, etc.) on an interactive map, see pending and active permits, and offers search capabilities– essentially the tools currently available through DDOT’s web permit locator. Additionally, users can sort by ward, generate charts and graphs by ward and select the area for which your search will buffer.

The application release follows DDOT’s redesigned Transportation Online Permitting System (TOPS), which DDOT debuted in November 2013

The DowntownDC BID will be sharing this application with property managers and other stakeholders as a useful tool.

The application is available to Android, Apple phone and tablet users, and Windows 8 tablet devices and PCs.
