Douglas Development Developing 1000 F Street

Douglas Development Corporation (702 H Street), which has owned 1000 F Street since 2006, will redevelop the property into a new boutique office and retail project. Once completed, the 11-story, trophy office building will occupy about 93,000 square feet (SF) and include 7,000 SF of ground floor retail. It will offer two floors of below grade parking and such top of the line amenities as outdoor terraces, a green roof and high ceilings. Other features will include a terracotta façade and a two-story, refurbished historic structure. The neighborhood is pleased. According to Penn Quarter Living, the news and information site, “This corner is the last of the corners to undergo redevelopment at 10th and F St NW and it will complete the aesthetic upgrade sorely needed by the intersection.” Construction is expected to begin later this year.
