Join Steven Jumper, director of corporate public policy for WGL Holdings and chairman of the DowntownDC BID for a discussion about the new DowntownDC ecoDistrict, an area which is accelerating neighborhood-scale sustainability through operational practices and supporting the city’s Sustainable DC efforts. He will be joined by Scott Pomeroy, the BID’s sustainability manager. On Tuesday, June 5th, The Alliance to Save Energy, which promotes energy efficiency worldwide, will host the hour-long dialogue at its headquarters building, 1850 M Street, NW, from noon to 1:00 pm. The BID is working to improve DC’s environment and economy and is setting aggressive energy efficiency goals. The DowntownDC BID area has 8,500 residents and more than 800 commercial properties totaling more than 68 million square feet of office space. The BID has joined a commitment to reduce DC’s energy consumption by 20% by the year 2020.  Registration for the meeting is now open.
