Join Capital Harvest on the Plaza (CHOP) and the DC Metro Area Dietetic Association for Food Day on October 24, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, on Woodrow Wilson Plaza at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (1300 Pennsylvania Avenue).

This National Food Day effort is sponsored by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a strong advocate for nutrition, health and food safety, and seeks to bring together Americans from all walks of life to support healthy, affordable food produced in a sustainable, humane way. Events will take place in homes, schools, churches, farmers’ markets, city halls, and state capitals.

Locally, special activities will take place at the site of the weekly CHOP farmers’ market and include chef demos, live entertainment, interactive student educational stations, and one-on-one nutritionist consultations. Participants can enjoy complimentary food samples, healthy local produce and purchase products. For more information visit, www.eatrightdc.org.
