Experience watching your favorite classic martial arts films outdoors set to an original, live hip-hop score this June as DowntownDC Summer Flicks & Shaolin Jazz Present Can I Kick It?

Every Tuesday in June at sunset, Freedom Plaza (13th & Pennsylvania) will be transformed into an outdoor movie theater featuring Can I Kick It?: a multimedia movie screening engagement produced by Shaolin Jazz and brought to you by the DowntownDC Business Improvement District. Each event features a classic (or cult contemporary classic) martial arts film that is scored with an original music soundtrack of hip hop, soul, and more mixed live by DJ 2-Tone Jones.

Event attendees are invited to begin their night at Boss Shepherd's (13th & E Streets NW) for a special Can I Kick It? happy hour featuring event themed cocktails, or play a game of ping pong on Freedom Plaza beginning at 6 pm. A limited number of stadium cushions will be provided by Zipcar or bring your own seating. Complimentary popcorn will be available from Pret A Manger (while supplies last).

Films will start at 8:30 pm, where audiences will be treated to cult classics: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; The Last Dragon; Big Trouble in Little China; and The Matrix.

Join us on this historic National Park Service site for the first Freedom Plaza movie series.
