Calling all graffiti and aerosol mural artists—the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) wants you. In partnership with the DC Department of Public Works (DPW), the agency is seeking graffiti artists and artist teams to design, create and install aerosol murals in D.C. neighborhoods. If selected, you will work with young apprentices between the ages of 14 and 23 under the 2013 MuralsDC Program, created to replace illegal graffiti with artistic works to revitalize sites and teach young people the art of aerosol painting. How cool that 41 MuralsDC projects now exist across D.C. Interested in applying for a $3,000 to $13,500 grant? The deadline is Friday, May 10. Practicing professionals should visit the DCCAH website for a copy of the prospectus and application. For more information, email Keona.Pearson@dc.gov, or call 202.724.5613.
