A Humanities Auction for a Good Cause

The Humanities Council of Washington, D.C., yesterday launched its first-ever online humanities auction. We’re impressed.

The auction features exclusive, one-of-a-kind, humanities-based experiences. Think an exclusive lunch with author Kitty Kelley; an intimate dinner with Busboys and Poets owners, Marjan and Andy Shallal, also well-known community activists, environmental stewards and philanthropists; and a neighborhood genealogy lesson for 20 people.

There’s plenty—including a Work Productivity, Teamwork, and Communication Workshop—to spend your personal or organizational dollars on.  The funds raised through the auction will support the Humanities Council and its mission to enrich the quality of life in D.C. by offering and supporting public programs, educational initiatives, grant programs, and the online D.C. Digital Museum.

The Council is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and public and private partners. More information about the auction, running through Oct. 15, is available on the organization’s website.
