Three varied experts will join together Sept. 9 for an evening in DowntownDC of thought-provoking discussion on cooking, medicine and farming at the “Chef + Doctor + Farmer = A Revolution” panel event, brought to you by FRESHFARM Markets

Woodberry Kitchen Chef/Owner Spike Gjerde, Oncologist and author Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel and farmer Zach Lester of Tree and Leaf Farm will share the same table to discuss how innovative and age-old farm-to-body practices are influencing farming, eating and medicine.

“I’m excited to present this panel which brings together three professions—chef, doctor and farmer—who never share a stage together but whose interaction is guaranteed to produce a revolution around the key issues of health, food and farming,” said Ann Yonkers, FRESHFARM Markets co-founder and co-executive director.

The discussion will be moderated by Corby Kummer, The Atlantic’s senior food editor and panelists will be introduced by Dr. Katherine Alley, medical director emeritus of Suburban Hospital Breast Cancer Center.

The event will take place at 7:30p.m. on Sept. 9 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ (945 G Street NW). Buy your $20 ticket in advance online here. A $10 student discount has been added. Use code “CDFStudent” when ordering online to take advantage of this offer.

This event is the first in the “FFM FEED Series” focusing on critical issues surrounding food.
