Service on the DC Circulator’s Convention Center-SW Waterfront route will end effective Friday, September 30 at 9:00 pm. Although low ridership is behind the suspension, all is not lost. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) will introduce new service between the Southwest Waterfront, the National Mall and Downtown on Sunday, September 25.

Metrobus Route 74 will operate along 7th Street (instead of 9th Street) seven days a week, connecting people to major attractions, entertainment, shopping, and other destinations, including the US Navy Memorial (701 Pennsylvania Avenue), the Verizon Center (601 F Street) and the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mount Vernon Place). However, it will operate on a different schedule than the Circulator. For more details, click here.

The DC Circulator is a the product of a unique public/private partnership between the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), WMATA, and DC Surface Transit, Inc. (DCST), a non-profit organization that includes the DowntownDC BID and its organizational partners.
