Occupy DC is planning to mark its one year anniversary with a number of activities in and around downtown beginning with the group’s “Roccupy Festival” on Saturday, September 29th. Planned events with continue through Sunday, October 7th. What to expect: activities at Freedom Plaza this Saturday and Sunday; a Shut Down K Street rally on Monday; a Pennsylvania Avenue and K Street demonstration on Tuesday; miscellaneous “days of action” Wednesday through Friday; more Freedom Plaza activities on Saturday, October 6th; and a closing event at McPherson Square on Sunday, October 7th. But plan your trips in and around Downtown carefully, monitor media or follow the DowntownDC BID on Twitter, @downtowndcbid, to avoid traffic and potential detours in the aforementioned areas.
