Hamilton Square (600 14th Street), the 250,548 SF building which once operated as the flagship store for Garfinckel’s department store, is for sale. The seller, Shorenstein Properties, purchased the building for $93 million, or $391 per square foot, from F Street Real Estate in 2004. It expects to reap more than $200 million once a buyer is found for the nine-story landmark building, once home to Borders and now the site of The Hamilton restaurant, bar and entertainment venue. Built in 1929, the LEED-certified building was redeveloped for $55 million in 1999.
