If you’re seeking delectable grub at reduced prices, then you’re the perfect candidate to indulge in Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week. The semi-annual restaurant treat kicks off on Monday, February 4, and continues until Sunday, February 10. Although Presidential Inauguration festivities pushed back by a month this winter’s much-anticipated food fest, no worries—more than 50 Downtown restaurants will participate.

Diners will have the chance to indulge their appetite at many first-rate Downtown restaurants, including Acadiana (901 New York Avenue), Finemondo (1319 F Street), and Woodward Table (1426 H Street). Participating eateries will offer 3-course, prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus priced at $20.13 and $35.13, respectively (excluding tax and gratuity). This one-week dining experience is a great time to try newly opened hotspots, award-winning picks or old neighborhood favorites.

What’s new this year: a website where foodies can explore what Restaurant Week has to offer, and the chance for participating restaurants to join the Australia Lamb Contest. Restaurants joining the contest must feature an Australian lamb dish on either of their prix-fixe menus. As a diner, you then get to vote for your favorite lamb dish on the Meat & Livestock Australia Facebook page. Prizes are involved!

  • The winning restaurant gets a trip for two to the land down under
  • If you voted for the blue ribbon creation, get ready to chow down with nine of your best buddies—the winning restaurant will prepare an Australian lamb dinner for all of you!

Cool? You betcha!
