It’s the week that DC gourmands have been waiting for.

Mark your calendars now for the winter edition of Washington DC Restaurant Week, set to take place Monday, Jan. 19, through Friday, Jan. 25.

Over 200 area restaurants have signed on to participate in this twice-annual celebration of DC dining, organized by Destination DC and the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington. Fixed price menus are offered at $35.15 per person at dinner and $20.15 per person for lunch. Some restaurants will offer their menu beyond the one week, so if you can’t make it January 19-25, check www.ramw.org/restaurantweek

57 Downtown DC restaurants will be offering up an opportunity for diners to sample their best dishes. Some new additions to the Downtown DC restaurant scene are participating in Restaurant Week for the first time.

Newcomers include Penn Commons (700 6th St. NW), a farm-to-table gastro pub with more than 40 craft beers on tap and pulled pork hand pies; CityCenterDC’s two carnivore-friendly dining options: DBGB Kitchen + Bar (931 H St. NW), a new brasserie-tavern by famed chef Daniel Boulud; and Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House (950 I St. NW, Suite 501), a three-story steak emporium and DC’s newest power lunch hotspot.

It will also be the Restaurant Week debut of Jose Andres’ brand new offering China Chilcano (418 7th St. NW), which opened for dinner service on January 5, and features an unexpected mix of Peruvian-Chinese-Japanese cuisine. Think dim sum washed down with pisco sours.
