Summer Groove

You know it’s summer when Live! on Woodrow Wilson Plaza returns to the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (1300 Pennsylvania Avenue) on Monday, June 13, and runs through Friday, September 23. Guess who’s going to present a smokin’ good time on opening day? R&B and soul sensation Smokey Robinson, of course.

The free lunchtime concerts are sponsored by the US General Services Administration (GSA) and feature a plethora of culturally diverse entertainers, weather permitting. There’s something for everyone: African dance, Celtic folk songs, jazz violin, hip hop, Latin swing and pop rock. Chuck Brown, the “Godfather of Go-Go” and a longtime Live! regular, will close out the performances with a special 5:00 pm show on September 23.
