Malibu Beach in Downtown DC? You be the judge. An open-air, End of Summer City Center Market and festival on the western edge of CityCenterDC on H Street and New York Avenue and 10th and 11th Streets from Sunday, September 12 through Saturday, September 25 will usher in a hodgepodge of food, spirits, live entertainment, fitness shows, exhibits—and tiki-bars positioned on top of real beach sand!

Everyone’s invited to indulge during this two-week event, which will feature BBQ battles, taste-of-the-town restaurant samplings, a farmers’ market, arts and crafts displays, electronics, souvenirs—you get the picture. The timing is ideal for attracting hordes of convention goers: The Congressional Black Caucus Convention, A.R.E. Green Expo 2011 and Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Meeting all will take place during the festival at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mount Vernon Place), just two blocks away.

Festival hours will run from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm daily, although concert events may run later. For more information, visit www.citycentermarkets.com.
