This Valentine’s Day, make your way to DowntownDC’s Franklin Park to experience a unique, one-night-only lighting display!

From sundown to 11pm on Feb. 14, enjoy “I Heart Franklin Park,” a unique, artistic projection of lights on the urban tree canopy of Franklin Park (13th and I streets NW). The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) is working with D.C. artist Robin Bell, founder of Bell Visuals, to bring Valentine’s Day-inspired projections to Downtown’s largest green space.

This year, surprise your sweetheart by visiting “I Heart Franklin Park” on Valentine’s Day or stop by for photo ops before or after your night out. There, you will find changing projections in the trees of this National Park Service park.

Bell is an award-winning editor, video journalist, and multimedia artist based in Washington DC. He is known for his unique style of live video collage, which he has performed at well-known venues including The Kennedy Center, the 9:30 Club and The Phillips Collection in D.C., Central Park SummerStage in New York and The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

The DowntownDC BID has been working to provide free programming in Franklin Park, site of the 2016 “DowntownDC Live” free summer concert series. This year, look forward to more events in DowntownDC, including DowntownDC Live every Thursday at lunchtime in June and July.
