Did someone say let the good times roll? The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) took a quick trip to the bayou right in our own backyard at Acadiana (901 New York Avenue) for the first installment of the BID’s latest ChowtownDC restaurant video series (#chowtowndc).

Acadiana blends classic and contemporary to create their signature southern Louisiana cuisine, which earned them the label one of DC’s “100 Very Best Restaurants” from Washingtonian magazine.

During the BID’s visit, we sampled NOLA bbq shrimp, charbroiled oysters, pan crisped duck with dirty rice and collard greens, a New Orleans classic fried oyster po’boy and crawfish jambalaya with chicken and andouille sausage. Watch the video to find out which dish was our favorite.

Acadiana kicks off the third season of ChowtownDC, which offers viewers an inside look into DowntownDC’s best eats. Stay tuned for additional features on Dirty Habit and Farmers & Distillers.

DowntownDC is a dining destination. From world-class restaurants and fine dining, to the hottest street food and takeout, DowntownDC offers a variety of cuisines at every price point.
