Have you livened up your lunch yet? If not, then you missed the go-go infused beats of The JoGo Project, the smooth jazz of Aaron Myers & Co. and the punk beats of Paperhaus. But don’t worry. There’s still time to catch a free performance.
The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) is half-way through its free DowntownDC Live lunchtime performance series in Franklin Park (13th and I streets NW). Every Thursday from 12pm-2pm, participants can enjoy a variety of free, outdoor entertainment from live music to poetry, comedians and DJ’s.
On July 7, guests will enjoy Split This Rock and Words Beats & Life, guest poets and dj’s. July 14 and 21 enjoy local music curated by Capital Fringe. The series finale on July 28 will feature Des Demonas courtesy of DC Public Library Punk Archive Series.
So grab your lunch, borrow a picnic blanket on-site from our DowntownDC ambassador, and enjoy live entertainment this summer through July 28.
The DowntownDC BID has partnered with a variety of local organizations for the DowntownDC Live summer events program in Franklin Park offering free entertainment, performances, art and culture to the public on Thursdays at lunchtime. The eight week series works to enliven Franklin Park and draws many people to Downtown’s largest green space as the BID continues its work with the city and the National Park Service to maintain, beautify– and in coming years– fully renovate and manage this valuable public space.
