Join us for the DowntownDC Holiday Skate Spectacular in partnership with the National Building Museum presented by Events DC! From December 16, 2024 – January 4, 2025, experience a FREE in indoor synthetic ice rink set in the National Building Museum’s Great Hall, from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The DowntownDC Holiday Skate Spectacular will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Skating is free for everyone so bring your skates! Don’t have any skates? No problem. There is $5 rental fee. Skate sizes and availability vary. Please note that a waiver at check-in is required to participate.

Embrace the festive spirit with themed skating days, including Disco Nights that will have you gliding on ice and Glow Nights that illuminate your winter fun! There will be special skating sessions for young children to ensure that skaters of all ages can join in the excitement. Be there for special guest appearances, food, and family fun activities!

Skate Schedule
  • 12:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.: Toddler Skate
  • 2:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.: Family Skate
  • 4:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.: Family Skate
  • 6:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.: Theme Skate (see Theme schedule below)

  • January 2: Taylor Swift
  • January 3: 90’s Hip Hop
  • January 4: Dancing Queen: Abba & Disco
