The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) hosted its 2020 DowntownDC Momentum Awards in a livestreamed ceremony on Thursday, December 3, 2020. The ceremony toasted the visionaries who made significant contributions to maintaining the vibrancy of DowntownDC, and embody what it means to be “DowntownDC Resilient”.
Award winners for 2020 will include:
DowntownDC Person of the Year
The Honorable Muriel Bowser, Mayor of the District of Columbia
For her leadership in meeting the short and long-term challenges caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) through strategic responses to public health, social and economic concerns.
DowntownDC Private Sector Person of the Year
Josh Turnbull, Oxford Properties Group
For his leadership in Chinatown and at Gallery Place to support DowntownDC stakeholders and the community.
DowntownDC Partnership of the Year
P.A.I.N.T.S. Institute, National Building Museum, St. John’s Church
For the collaborations that resulted in protest-inspired murals currently on exhibition on the west lawn of the National Building Museum (Murals That Matter: Activism Through Public Art)” and on the windows to the historic St. John’s Church at Lafayette Square.
