Healthy greenery and colorful flowers are coming to the medians along K Street NW as part of the latest landscaping and beautification efforts by the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) and District Cleaning and Maintenance Services (DCMS).
Along the medians on K Street between 12th and 16th streets, you will already notice edged tree boxes, pruned trees and brick repairs being made by the BID in an effort to beautify this major downtown corridor. The entire project will encompass 37 tree boxes.
Blue, purple and yellow pansies will be planted in the center of each tree box, with variegated liriope lining the edges of each box. A few hundred bricks are scheduled to be repaired.
Regular maintenance will continue to ensure that the medians remain beautiful.
Are you a property owner or manager along K Street? Join us in our effort to beautify K Street by maintaining trees, treeboxes and planters on your sidewalks. Those wishing to get involved can contact Dan Bramley at daniel@downtowndc.org.
