The DowntownDC BID $1 Million Pandemic Assistance Grant Program will supplement and compliment the federal and DC governments’ grant programs by providing grants to those DowntownDC small businesses and organizations that:
- do not qualify for those grant programs
- do qualify for those grant programs but have experienced revenue declines of over 25% during the pandemic
- meet all eligibility requirements below
Grant Size:
$5,000 to $15,000
Number of Grants Anticipated:
50 – 150
Use of Funds:
Awarded funds can be used for payroll, rent, mortgage payments and other overhead.
Key Dates:
- January 14, 2021, 9 AM: Application period begins
- February 4, 2021, 5 PM (extended from January 28): Application period ends
- February 5, 2021 (extended from January 29): Notification period begins
- February 6 – February 19, 2021 (extended from January 30 – February 4): Grant dollars disbursed, upon receipt of all required applicant information
Eligibility:
- Business must be located in DowntownDC BID (if business operates more than one location in DowntownDC BID area, that business may apply for a grant on behalf of each DowntownDC location)
- Food service and non-restaurant retail (view example eligible business types)
- Business or organization must be open for business currently
- Business must demonstrate revenue decline for April – December 2020 of 25% or more when compared to the same months in 2019
- Business operates fewer than ten locations outside of the D.C. region
Grant Size Factors:
- Pre-pandemic revenue
- Decline in sales during April –December 2020 compared to April – December 2019
- Number of applications received
Application Process:
Applications will open on January 14, 2021. Businesses can prepare by compiling the following documents:
