Spring has sprung in DowntownDC and farmers market season is here!
Shop for fresh produce, dairy, prepared foods, alcohol, coffee and more in DowntownDC as four weekly farmers markets open for the 2017 season. New this year, the FRESHFARM Penn Quarter market has relocated to the steps of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum on F Street between 7th and 9th streets.
The Penn Quarter and FRESHFARM White House market each opened for the season on April 6. Both markets this year will feature many local vendors including Black Rock Orchard, Capitol Kettle Corn, Clear Spring Creamery, Old World Breads and New Columbia Distillers. At the White House, many vendors with prepared food options will be included such as Pinch gourmet Chinese dumplings, Soupergirl, Straw Stick & Brick and The Red Zebra. An additional FRESHFARM market at CityCenterDC will open May 2.
Capital Harvest on the Plaza (CHoP), will also be returning to DowntownDC this year at the Woodrow Wilson Plaza at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (1300 Pennsylvania Avenue). CHoP will open May 19 and operate Fridays from 11a.m.-3p.m through November 18.
The FRESHFARM White House Market (810 Vermont Ave) opened April 6 and operates every Thursday from 11a.m.-2p.m. through Nov. 16.
