Multiple Inaugural Balls will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mount Vernon Place) over the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. As a result, the following street closures will apply near the Convention Center beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, and continuing through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22:
- New York Avenue, from 6th to 10th streets
- K Street, from 6th to 10th streets
- Massachusetts Avenue, from 6th to 10th streets
- L Street, from 6th to 10th streets
- M Street, from 6th to 10th streets
- N Street, from 6th to 10th streets
- 9th Street, from O to K streets
- 7th Street, from O to K streets
Parking restrictions will also apply in the restricted parking zone area encompassing O Street to the north, 6th Street to the east, Massachusetts Avenue and K Street to the south and 10th Street to the west.
Persons wishing to enter the restricted area either by car or on foot will have to present a photo ID or other form of identification or both as proof that they work or live in area. See the map for more detailed information about the closings and restrictions.
