Vendors Invited to Join the Refreshed DowntownDC Holiday Market for its 20th Anniversary.
The DowntownDC Holiday Market returns, celebrating its 20th anniversary! Set against the backdrop of the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the holiday market will transform Downtown D.C.’s F Street NW into a European-style outdoor marketplace from November 22, 2024 to December 23, 2024. Featuring handmade and specialty goods from local artisans, this year’s holiday market promises an activated, festive shopping experience just steps away from the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Station. The market will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) is thrilled to announce that vendor applications are now open until July 1, 2024. This is your chance to be part of a beloved holiday tradition and showcase your unique products to thousands of visitors. Apply here: The 2024 DowntownDC Holiday Market Vendor Application. Meet The Makers Show: Our New Market Operator
This year, the DowntownDC BID contracted The Makers Show, a women-owned, mixed-use retail platform renowned for creating immersive and festive marketplaces. The BID and The Makers Show will collaborate to enhance the DowntownDC Holiday Market experience while offering reduced costs for booth rentals. The goal is to create a diverse and inclusive marketplace that engages, enchants, and inspires. “DowntownDC BID is now partnering with one of the nation’s leading market operators to significantly expand and diversify this year’s DowntownDC Holiday Market,” said Gerren Price, President and CEO of the DowntownDC BID. “As part of the new strategy, we offer more local businesses a chance to participate and make the market as diverse as possible.”
This year, look forward to:
- upgraded vendor kiosks with enhanced branding opportunities,
- an expanded vendor pool,
- exciting community and family activations,
- an extensive food and beverage program,
- sponsor collaborations, and more.
Enlivening Penn Quarter-Chinatown
With the DowntownDC Holiday Market located in Penn Quarter-Chinatown, the area’s revitalization is a key focus for the BID. Efforts to foster a welcoming and vibrant environment are in full swing, exemplified by the launch of the Penn Quarter-Chinatown Safety Team this year. “Cultivating a vibrant and safe urban environment lies at the heart of our mission at DowntownDC BID,” said Gerren Price. “Through collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for a safer future, we are proud to lead this initiative, ensuring that DowntownDC remains a destination where all can thrive.”
The DowntownDC Holiday Market is a significant part of this effort. The holiday market is expected to attract thousands of visitors, driving economic activity and encouraging visitors to explore area restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues such as Capital One Arena. With The Makers Show, we are committed to engaging a network of local businesses to make the holiday market as diverse and enjoyable as possible, helping cement Downtown D.C.’s status as a global destination for the holiday season. This initiative aligns with the Gallery Place-Chinatown Task Force’s activation plan, aiming to generate foot traffic and increase visitation through special events and permanent activation programs.
Join us in celebrating the return of the DowntownDC Holiday Market and contribute to the dynamic spirit of the Penn Quarter-Chinatown area. Vendors can apply now to be part of this extraordinary event and help us make this holiday season unforgettable.
