After a thorough search, the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce that Nabavi Oliver has been selected to serve as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective Monday, February 27.

After serving as the BID’s Director of Administration since 2017, Oliver will now provide day-to-day oversight with respect to the BID’s operations and drive strategic initiatives to support the nonprofit’s overall growth and success. As the new COO, Nabavi will build upon his efforts to put employees first and while fostering opportunities for greater collaboration to advance the BID’s mission. For Oliver, his new role means offering efficient and effective systems that will increase the productivity of the organization while retaining the creative sparks that drive the BID.

“I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve the BID in this next capacity,” Oliver says. “I am eager to partner with everyone to really increase our cohesiveness and help make the DowntownDC BID the best in the business.”

Prior to joining the BID, Oliver was the director of business and legal operations at EagleForce Associates and has excelled in multiple capacities with the D.C. government. His early career created a strong foundation for his current contributions at the cross-section of the nonprofit, government, legal and private sectors, helping him take a holistic approach to his work.

“Nabavi has served the BID dutifully for the past five years, and I am confident he will do an exceptional job in his new role,” DowntownDC President and CEO Gerren Price says. “As COO, Nabavi will be instrumental in helping me to execute my vision for the organization and help lead us into the future. I am so excited to see him transition into this new role and cannot wait to see the positive impact it will have on the BID.”

Oliver has a bachelor of science in social science from Florida State University and a juris doctorate from Barry University School of Law.
