WASHINGTON, DC – The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) presents its third District of Fashion Runway Show on Thursday, September 5. For the first-time ever, District of Fashion will showcase its spring and summer (S/S) collections from local, national and international fashion designers and models at the prestigious and historic Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) in the dazzling Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard.
District of Fashion continues to convene hundreds of fashion and beauty aficionados, renowned guests and models from across the DC/MD/VA region. Celebrity TV personality and stylist Paul Wharton will host the District of Fashion’s runway event, just ahead of New York Fashion Week, to bridge the gap between the two cities and elevate DC’s position in the fashion industry. New to this year’s show includes international Elle cover star and celebrity model, Olivia Martin, runway music curated by Vette Bailhache, and music spun by DC native DJ Face. Returning this season, also features veteran District of Fashion hair and makeup director, Eva Styles, to oversee the season’s hottest trends for hair and makeup.
“For the third time in 12 months, the DowntownDC BID is thrilled to showcase an amazing slate of local and international designers and support the local fashion industry through our District of Fashion Runway Show,” said BID President & CEO Neil Albert. “We have depended on key public and private partners to help us keep pace with the flood of interest and energy around this signature event and fulfill our mission to elevate the local fashion industry.”
