The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) announced today that longtime homeless services advocate Linda Kaufman will serve as the BID’s Director of Homeless Services, where she will bring over 30 years of experience to the organization in its pursuit of ending homelessness.
“Homeless services remains one of the DowntownDC BID’s top priorities and the hiring of Linda will enable us to focus on effectively ending homelessness in DowntownDC and better supporting individuals experiencing homelessness in our community,” said BID President & Executive Director Neil Albert.
Linda’s move represents her return to the DowntownDC BID after serving as the BID’s Director of Homeless Services 20 years ago. At that time, she ran the BID’s Downtown Services Center.
Linda joins the BID from Community Solutions where she served as National Movement Manager, working to engage individuals, communities, and organizations in large-scale social change to end homelessness. Linda has worked in homeless services in DC since the mid-1980s, including as Chief Operating Officer of Pathways to Housing DC. Linda received a Masters of Divinity at Virginia Theological Seminary, is ordained as an Episcopal priest, and ministers at St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church in Washington, DC.
